Hallym University held the ‘2023 Hallym Major Fair’ on Wednesday, the 12th, at the Hallym Recreation Center on its main campus.

On Wednesday, the 12th of July, 2023, the ‘2023 Hallym Major Fair’ took place at the Hallym Recreation Center on Hallym University’s main campus. This fair, known as the ‘Hallym Major Fair,’ has been the university’s largest-scale major experience program since its inception in 2018. It was organized as part of the 2023 High School Education Contribution University Support Project, with the purpose of offering high school students valuable opportunities to explore various careers and majors. A total of 26 departments enthusiastically participated in this event, further enhancing its significance and value.

The Department of Forensic Information Science and Technology, which was recently established, has plans to expand and improve the Legal Informatics and Forensic Science major starting in 2024. The department’s goal is to select 40 students and train them to tackle complex problems arising from our rapidly changing society driven by AI. They also aim to lead advancements in state-of-the-art scientific investigation by utilizing AI data.

At the booth of the Department of Forensic Information Science and Technology, titled ‘Beyond Forensic Science’, they provided information on the requirements for special police recruitment. They also introduced the department’s major track, educational goals, and professors. Additionally, students had the opportunity to experience firsthand fingerprint collection and learn about the activities of the Legal Informatics and Forensic Science Institute at Hallym Uinversity, which uses AI for crime investigation.

The ‘2023 Hallym Major Fair’ was a successful event that offered high school students valuable opportunities to explore careers and discover majors. Hallym University will continue its efforts to provide students with ongoing opportunities for experiential learning in various majors. The aim is to help them make informed decisions about their career paths.

Meanwhile, Hallym University is operating programs such as the ‘Hallym Major Fair,’ where major professors visit high schools to conduct classes, and the ‘Customized Admission Information Session,’ where admissions officers hold tailored admissions briefings at high schools. To support parents and teachers, Hallym University runs services like the ‘Hallym Counseling Office’ and ‘Hallym Teacher Conference,’ aiming to provide accurate entrance exam information and dedicated guidance for proper career and academic counseling. The university strives to make every effort in ensuring precise admission information to facilitate appropriate career guidance and college enrollment.
